If you choose "Blank Web Page" from the File|New menu, this is what your screen will look like.
Although it looks similar to a Word document, there are some differences. Firstly, since everbody's Web browser will display the page differently, there is no ruler to align things with. Also, the Style button on the Formatting toolbar will contain the six heading levels that are common with HTML.

You can change the color of the text in the same way you would
do it for a Word document
, and you can even add tables in the same way as a Word document.
